Discover Rome in one day!

Sometimes we have clients calling in asking, if it is possible to do discover Rome just in one day. The answer is yes and no. It would depend on the places you would like to visit while you are there. Let’s say you are an art or history lover, then one day will seem like a minute to you as there is so much to discover in Rome in one day. However, let’s say you are no other option but will overnight on Rome and certainly would like to utilize your time as much as you can. Then, here are some suggestions for you:

*We will based this post on people that will be doing a cruise and will have only one day to spend in Rome. As, this is a valid scenario for most of our clients as well.

Private transportation from the ship

First, you would need to know that the Port of Rome – Civitavecchia- is located a little outside the city. Therefore, it would not be very wise to get a taxi to go to any of the places in city center. It is approximately an hour ride. In this case it would be better to arrange a private transportation through your cruise line or a travel agency to at least get pick up straight from the ship and dropped of at the location you want to go.

Secondly, you can arrange a car at your disposal for the time you will be in Rome. I know it may sound pricey but if you plan to share the service with some of your friends from the cruise, then the cost per person would be cheaper then taking a cab.
